The Sick Post...

So yeah....I've already told half the world...so why not my dedicated blog readers (oh wait, cuz i've already told you over facebook or instant messaging...lol).....I'm not feeling well. I don't I'm actually sick, just a sore throat. I probably caught something at the saucer last night.....not good. Speaking of the saucer, I didn't even go there!

Instead, I went to the dry cleaners who messed up two of my really nice shirts. As far as I can tell there are burn marks on the collars...grrr you Dry Clean Super Center of Bartlett....grrr. So, I took the shirts back to them and waiting an enormous amount of time for the manager the guy was actually really nice about it. He claims that those aren't burn marks, but some chemical ("Oh sir, its only some deathly chemical that would have caused a slight rash and puss-filled sores all over your body, nothing to worry about. Have a good day.".....lol) Well, to give the manager credit...he's going to re-wash the shirt and if that doesn't work he'll pay me for the damages....thank god....otherwise i might have had to open a can of whoop-ass on him.

Well, I'm going to drug myself to sleep and hopefully feel better tomorrow morning. I HAVE to feel better by Friday b/c we're going to Nashville to see that Redbull competition called Flugtag....it looks like a lot of fun...check it out.

Gnite!

Do you have Pride?

Once again, I'm going to apologize to my 2 readers for my overdue update....I'm really sorry. I could blame it on work, me trying to exercise/play tennis, or all the IEEE stuff I've been doing, but there's no excuse...if anything I could do a on-liner like Graham does sometimes.

I guess I'll start off with a recap of this last weekend:

Friday:

Watched Ocean's 13 and I really liked it! Ocean's 11 was also really good, but 12...ehhhh, I think they tried too hard on that one. I ended up winning an Ocean's 13 poster for answering some dumb question, but I decided to give it to the little kid sitting in front of me....he would probably appreciate it more than me. Plus, he didn't yell, kick, scream, or talk during the movie...now why can't more kids be as disciplined! BEAT YOUR KIDS!!! (Okay, now i don't mean bruise the hell out of them, but a slap every now and then ain't gonna hurt.)

Saturday:

I met up with some friends from high school, whom I hadn't seen SINCE high school. Apparently this guy I knew in HS (and I wasn't very fond of) got a job back in Memphis as a producer for a local news station. Well, another girl from hs (who is awesome!) decided to have a "Welcome Back" party and invited about 50 people (according to the stalker network...oh, I mean Facebook). Well, only three of us showed up....yup, the guy, the chick, and me....FUN TIMES (pure sarcasm)! I tried talking to him, but he was same jack-ass I knew in high school so I gave up and continued drinking my beers. Then we decided to invite some of our friends....I called up two guys and mr. producer called up two of his friends. Now, his friends ended up being pretty cool....in fact, one of them was meteorologist for a local news station and the other guy is a program director for a radio station...kinda cool. At this point I had downed about 6 or 7 beers so I was feeling it! My friends decided to leave (jackasses!), so the us remaining 5 people decided to go a new bar/club. We ended up cutting in front of a huge ass line and not paying cover b/c mr. meteorologist told the doorman that we had a the producer of channel 5 news us...dum da da dum (who the hell cares...honestly!?), well apparently this guy did...so we got it (not gonna complain). We got in there and had another beer and then the chick and I decided to call it a night (oh lord...I'm getting old!).

Sunday:

I forgot to mention, but the Pride Parade was on Saturday, but I decided not go b/c I suck. Yes, I probably should have gone, but I was too afraid of being on TV or sosmeone else (from work) seeing me there. Yeah, I know a lot of people go there to support the GLBT community, but come on.....I don't have a g/f (the constantly ask me about that at work), i'm pretty liberal in my views, and i look good when i come to work (not trying to be cocky or anything...but most of the people don't even try to look nice where i work...).

Because I missed out on that, I was determined to go to the Pride Picnic on Sunday. Well, I called up some people and two my straight friends decided to come with (they're awesome!), well we decided to meet up for lunch at this great breakfast place, and then go. Well, after eating breakfast, I didn't bring up the picnic at all....I started feeling bad for taking my str8 friends there.....I didn't want them to feel uncomfortable. Therefore I decided not to go. Instead we decided to run some errands and once we were done I was dropping on the guys off at his car and he turned to me and said, "aren't we supposed to go the pride picnic?"....I said, "No, it's okay...don't worry about it." To which he responded, "hell no, i drove all this way to go to pride picnic, and we're going!" :) He called out to the other and he jumped back in the car and said, "lets go!" Well, we called girl-friend of ours and headed to the park. So this thing was from 1pm - 5pm, and we got there around 3:45pm...and it was completely dead. I guess they were packing up by this time.....I dunno? Anyway, we ended up driving past it.....I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Other news:

I'm accepting applications for new gay friends in memphis. Now don't get me wrong...I have some awesome friends, but I also need gay friends who can understand me on a different level. Who don't have to feel afraid of saying the "wrong" thing around me (as some have mentioned). I just need someone to talk to....you know, and maybe hang out w/ at a gay bar (how else am i going to find mr. right!?).

Enough blabbering for one night. I will def. try to do a better job of updating.

Food & Exercise

Seeing that I haven't updated since Sunday, I'll give you a quick update on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday:
Monday
A group of us celebrated a friends birthday at the Melting Pot...if you haven't been there...stop reading now, shutdown your computer, grab your keys, and your ass over there! Yes, it was that amazing. For those of you that don't know about it, you get a four course Fondue dinner starting with your choice of cheese (we got the Feng Shui Cheese Fondue & Fiesta Cheese Fondue), then you choose your salad (I had the Mandarin and Almond Oriental Salad), next is your entrée (we chose the Fondue Feast which comes with Ahi Tuna, Vannamei Shrimp, Teriyaki Sirloin, Tenderloin, Panang Chicken and Potstickers) with your type of cooking style (we chose traditional Court Bouillon style & Mojo style), and lastly (the best part!) the dessert (we chose the Yin & Yang Chocolate Fondue and Chocolate S'mores Fondue). Three hours later we had all gained five pounds....so take that my dear cousin and your husband....and shove it! :) I will warn you that the place is a bit pricey ("a bit" being an understatement), but it's totally worth it. In fact, I would rather go there than Texas de Brazil any day (even though T de B has the good looking waiters w/ the accents!!!!)

Tuesday

Most of you already know what happens on Tuesdays.....The Flying Saucer! This is another unique place because it is a bar that has over 200 different types of beer from around the world. A group of us go there every Tuesday to play trivia and ummm...drink. Also, I've signed up for the UFO Club, where I have to drink 200 different types of beers and then I'll get my name put on a plate, which will go on the wall for all of eternity (okay, maybe not eternity, but for a really long time). Its pretty simple how it works....you sign-up for the UFO card ($14 for membership & a FS t-shirt) and everytime to go to the Saucer you swipe your card at the computer and it keeps up with what beers you've had and which ones you have yet to drink. Upon completion of the 200 beers you get a $100 beer tab to celebrate your victory, and then you officially become a Beer Knurd.

This Tuesday we didn't have many people show up, but its all cool b/c the guy that runs trivia bought me a beer! (No, he wasn't hitting on me...he just knows our group really well and will buy us beer and food all the time.)

Wednesday

I'm not sure if it had anything to do with what my cousins said this last weekend, but I started exercising/working-out today. I kept telling myself that I would hit the gym tomorrow, but tomorrow turned into a couple of months. Anyway, I'll trying going at least 3 times a week (I don't want to set the bar too high and not be able to keep up with it.), and see how it goes. Also, I bought a hybrid mountain/racing bike last fall, so I'll get that out and starting riding again.
Gnite!

Beer Knurd

All I could think about the entire day was going to the Flying Saucer and hanging out with my friends! Work was normal as usual...do shit, check Facebook, do some more shit, check Gmail, check Facebook, do a tad more shit, and again check Facebook >>> LOL!

We had about 7.3 people there (0.3 is for someone that stayed for only 30 minutes) and we had a great time. For those of you that don't know...we play Trivia there every Tuesday....winners get either cool beer glasses, gift certificates, or t-shirts. Btw...YES, we have won many times! This night was even more special because we also got to celebrate a friends birthday...she turned 24 today...woot woot!!! In honor of her birthday, the guy that runs the trivia bought her a beer -->

Lindeman's Framboise (suggested by yours truly...lol). beerliquors.com describes it as,

"Deep opaque garnet with frothy carbonation. Sour raspberry aromas also show a hint of tart, winey character. A brisk, tart entry leads to a medium-bodied palate with a nice balance of sweetness and tart lambic character. A sweeter, though not cloying example of the lambic style." = AWESOME BEER !!! If you haven't tried it....you should! (Btw...it's a Belgium beer if you were wondering.) After the beer, I got the trivia guy to announce her birthday to the entire bar and we all sang her "Happy Birthday"....all meaning the entire bar >>> LOL!!! How awesome is that? :)

All in all, it was a great night and I'm grateful to have such awesome friends.

For those of you that couldn't show up....we're there every Tuesday!
